Beyond Romance December 4, 2023 Hello everyone. Welcome to December.... Yeah, I can't believe it either but here we are in the last month of 2023. From one perspective, it is a happy thing to make it through another year. Good times and bad they all pass us by at their own speed. With the recent snap of cold weather I'm winterizing the barn and other buildings. Just the other day I added plastic to the wire on the turkey pen. Second round. The little brats pulled it down the first time, but after a stern talking to about how Thanksgiving works, they settled down and left it alone. Speaking of Thanksgiving... I hosted it for my family for the first time and had a blast. No, I did not cook. That would have been too high risk for the people I love. Did you know you can buy precooked turkey dinner? I do now. And it all turned out great. For those wondering, I did win the NANOWRIMO challenge again this year. Added more than fifty thousand words to the Division Eight stories. Most ...

Beyond Romance November 27, 2023 Hello everyone. Hope all my US peeps had a nice turkey day. Somehow, I made it through my first attempt to host Thanksgiving dinner. I won't lie. I loved it. I maybe stepped up to take the workload off my mom, but once I got into it (and realized I could buy food instead of cooking it myself) I had fun. The only downside was it did cut into my writing time just a bit, but it was worth it. Huge thanks to my family for being understanding and helpful. And now it's the last week of NANOWRIMO and I'm running into the final stretch... Currently at a little more than 40,000 words with a goal of 50,000 I was trying to explain my writing process to a friend the other day and I think I just came off sounding crazy. But the short of it is... I often feel like I'm along for the ride and mostly let the characters drive the story. After I come up with an idea, then I try to get to know the characters, how they think and what moves them. Onc...
