Beyond Romance

December 4, 2023

Hello everyone. Welcome to December.... Yeah, I can't believe it either but here we are in the last month of 2023. From one perspective, it is a happy thing to make it through another year. Good times and bad they all pass us by at their own speed.

With the recent snap of cold weather I'm winterizing the barn and other buildings. Just the other day I added plastic to the wire on the turkey pen. Second round. The little brats pulled it down the first time, but after a stern talking to about how Thanksgiving works, they settled down and left it alone.

Speaking of Thanksgiving... I hosted it for my family for the first time and had a blast. No, I did not cook. That would have been too high risk for the people I love. Did you know you can buy precooked turkey dinner? I do now. And it all turned out great.

For those wondering, I did win the NANOWRIMO challenge again this year. Added more than fifty thousand words to the Division Eight stories. Most of that was in Deven's book putting it much closer to publication. I'm still aiming for the end of the month but I won't se that in stone until I'm happy with the complete first draft.

In case you were wondering, I do celebrate Christmas and love the part about giving gifts. I do it all year long anyhow, but in December I get extra generous.  Last year I gave away more than 300 books. This year I'm aiming quite a bit higher. I have set almost all my books to be free for 2-5 days this month. Grab as many as you can and enjoy.

Between Deven and the Deep Blue Sea

excerpt from Division Eight, book 2...

He leaned in close and nuzzled her neck. His breath hit her skin first and then his lips. Gentle, almost tentative. Then he caught her jaw and turned her head to the side, brushing a kiss over her temple where she'd been hurt. She felt his heat ease into her. His magic soothing away the injury as if it had never been.
"Thank you."
"Mmm..." He held her close until their hearts seemed to find the same rhythm. "I was scared when I heard you were hurt."
"It wasn't so bad and now it's no more than a memory."
"Please don't put yourself in danger. It might make me a bad person, but I'd let a thousand people die before putting you at risk."
